Hemp Cultivation Now Legal in Vermont, Farmers Not Required to Wait for Federal Law Change 22 July 2013

Senate Bill 157 has officially become law, explicitly legalizing hemp in the State of Vermont. Under this new law, farmers who wish to grow hemp musthemp simply file some paperwork with the Secretary of Agriculture, Food and Markets, and maintain a 0.3% or lower THC content in the hemp they cultivate. The secretary may require a registration fee, but the maximum they can issue is $25 a year. Unlike most other state hemp laws, this proposal allows farmers to begin cultivation prior to a federal law change.
With this law taking effect, Vermont joins Washington and Colorado which allow hemp cultivation before the feds end their prohibition. Obviously those who decide to cultivate hemp will be violating federal law and putting themselves at risk of prosecution, but they would no longer risk state-level charges. H
This opens up a market for these states which, according to congressional research, consists of over 25,000 various products; the same research found that America imports nearly half a billions worth of hemp products from other countries, while maintaining the illegality of its cultivation.

Garden Tower

50 Plants + Composting in Four Square Feet!

The Garden Tower grows plants vertically, enabling you to grow 50 plants in a very small space -- the ultimate square foot garden with integrated composting! Most container gardens only allow planting on the top. The Garden Tower has 45 openings around the outside and space for up to 5 taller plants on top, resulting in an impressively bountiful harvest.  Along with the top, side planting pockets are large enough to accommodate compact root vegetables such as turnips, carrots, and radishes.  (see the FAQ for vegetable suggestions).

Crock-Pot Marijuana Recipes: Canna-Milk

Crock-Pot Marijuana Recipes: Canna-Milk

Crock-pot_Marijuana_Recipes_Canna-milk
Crock-pots can offer for lots of very easy marijuana recipes. By default, the low-temperature slow cookers operate at temperatures high enough to decarboxylate your cannabinoids without getting hot enough to destroy them. Using this recipe for cannabis milk, you can enjoy your medical marijuana in anything you can make with milk like salad dressings, or pasta sauces, or pies.
You will need:
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/8 ounce cannabis     Any plant part will do, but buds and kief work best. Strength will vary, so change this amount according to desired potency.
  • A sealable container
  • A piece of cheese cheesecloth
  • A large rubber band
  • A Crock-pot
  1. Grind the cannabis into pieces just large enough for the strainer to catch. This helps the cannabinoids bind to the milk more quickly, yielding better results.
  2. Combine cannabis and milk into Crock-pot and set to its lowest setting.
  3. Stir until cannabis is evenly distributed.
  4. Cover, and let simmer for about an hour.
  5. Cover the opening of the container with cheesecloth and press down gently to make an indention large enough to hold your cannabis and secure with a large rubber band.
  6. Carefully pour the mixture through the filter, and then carefully press the plant matter to squeeze some liquid from the plant material.
  7. Remove the rubber band and carefully fold the cheesecloth around the solids; then squeeze any remaining liquid into the container.
  8. Cover and refrigerate.
Your kitchen will have a strong marijuana aroma by the time this is done. If you find this smell unpleasant, provide adequate ventilation. You may substitute other dairy products for even more cooking possibilities. This can be used in anything that requires milk; you can cook with it, enjoy it in tea or coffee, or even drink it alone. Be aware of both the strength of your canna-milk relative to the amount of milk needed for the recipe for desired results. Remember that when consuming medical marijuana, THC is absorbed much more slowly, so consume carefully and avoid exceeding your desired results. Canna-milk is not just of medicinal value, it’s quite handy in the kitchen, and contains several essential vitamins, minerals, and fats, making it quite an addition to the marijuana recipes in your collection.

Elder's Meditation of the Day July 22

Elder's Meditation of the Day July 22
In this universe, all activities, events, and entities are related. Indians believe that everything in the universe has value and instructs us in some aspect of life. Everything is alive and is making choices that determine the future, so the world is constantly creating itself With the wisdom and time for reflection that old age provides, we may discover unsuspected relationships.
---Vine Deloria, Jr, STANDING ROCK SIOUX
We are all connected. This is what the Elders have told us for a long time. If we are connected to all things, then whenever we harm anything, it causes harm to ourselves. If we destroy the air, then we will be affected by what we breathe in. If we poison the Earth, we poison ourselves. We must respect our Mother Earth and She will respect us in return. We must open our eyes and obey the spiritual laws that govern the Earth and ourselves.
Grandfather, today allow me to honor and respect the things You have made. Let me see the beauty of all things.
