Lastrealindians-- Leonard Peltier

38 years ago today, June 26, 1975, Leonard Peltier and others responded to an attack instigated by the FBI and others of the intelligence community. Leonard and many others were living in a place known as tent city (many of you remember being there, it was a beautiful community as we are told). The 2 FBI agents (Jack Coler and Ron Williams) pursued a red vehicle onto Grampa Calvin Jumping Bull's land (Tent City) to hunt down a man suspected of stealing some cowboy boots. Someone opened fire and within minutes it was clear the 2 FBI agents were sent to instigate as hundreds of para-military agents were on the scene. Another shootout happened; this time the Coler & Williams (2 FBI agents) and Warrior Joe Killsright Stuntz were killed in the gun battle. Leonard and others miraculously escaped the largest man-hunt in U.S. history. When Leonard was finally unethically extradited the US attorneys and intelligence community engaged in most egregious violations of the justice process to secure Leonard's conviction. Someone had to fall. Without knowing who killed the agents or whether that's knowable, we maintain Leonard's innocence for murder on the basis of self defense alone in that Pine Ridge was in a civil war of its own -things were tense beyond our current understanding. In the alternative the process by which he was convicted is so bereft of basic judicial integrity and indicative of corrupt criminal conspiracy to imprison movement leaders or kill them (which is currently being done to AIM, Black Panthers, Blockaders, NYM, Deep Green Resistors, Whistleblowers, and any critically thinking, awakened spirit that opposes the regime) that the U.S. should be ashamed of making a political prisoner out of brother Leonard Peltier. In any case what-so-ever, Leonard has more than served his time at 36 years and counting! AWAY FROM HIS LOVED ONES IN HIS ELDER YEARS! He should be set free. We honor Leonard Peltier.
