Todays perimeter shown in darkest red. They reissued another more detailed perimeter for yesterday, so I've included that. The palest orange line is from Friday 16th.
Inevitable, but sad - much of the Pucker Point trail burned yesterday.
The other bothersome thing is that the fire seems to be wrapping around and coming back up around on the south side of Last Chance. Maybe they have lines in place where the terrain flattens out somewhat?
"The center portion of the east flank was still very active during the day, but indirect containment lines remained secure."
Unclear as to where the "containment lines" are actually located - wondering if on the NW flank of Cavanaugh ridge, since the fire doesn't seem to making too much headway in that direction?
North of there, though, I doubt they can do too much in the fingers of canyon radiating towards Robinson Flat until it burns up to Foresthill Rd again.
"On the extreme south end, firefighters will begin building a very steep hand line today, which descends to the river."
Hope the fire fighters stay safe in that terrain - "very steep" seems like an understatement for that area.
