Life goes on...

I'm sharing this again for my StepFather, Ed. He dealt with life as long as he could. We may not have dealt well with each other when I was a kid, but he faithfully cared for Mom and I was always impressed with that. She has been (self induced) bedridden for 25 years. His health was declining, He'd had heart surgery, he was old.
He didn't believe in depression, but they both suffered greatly from it without any help, no meds..... so he shot himself.

Be at Peace Ed

  • Anna Louise Hallquist You're a brave woman to post this. Thanks.
  • Linda C Rosenberg May No Anna, I'm not the brave one. I'm the weak one, I couldn't handle going down there anymore & giving Ed a couple weeks off. Mom was getting meaner, her dementia wasn't helping. But we all just let Ed deal with it & stayed blinded to how bad it was getting. I had enough abuse growing up, I can't handle it as an adult. Ed stayed strong as long as he could. Her verbal abuse was horrible. She hadn't spoken to me in 5 months because she said I was conspiring with Ed to put her in a home & that I had no business talking to Ed, he didn't need anyone to talk to. She told me I wasn't her daughter. (remember, I'm adopted).......
